Rishikesh is the yoga capital of the world, but it does not just end there. This majestic place offers a variety of other expedition opportunities for adventure enthusiasts that can make it an ideal place for everyone. Travelling and adventure are two of the most common words that come into the mind of a traveller.
Apart from peace and spirituality, some other things will add a thrill to the visit to Rishikesh. In this blog, we will share some of the best and most thrilling activities every adventurer should try to make their trip memorable.
Let’s add fun to Rishikesh
1. Bungee Jumping-
Jumping from a cliff with just a rope wrapped around your legs, isn’t it fascinating to hear? To add a little flavour, the height of the cliff is 109 meters, which is also the highest bungee jumping in India. This adrenaline-pumping activity is one of the most thrilling and adventurous things to tick off the bucket list (Personal opinion, many may disagree).
You won’t regret it, we assure you!
To add more information, Himalayan Bungy is the organization that offers this unique adventure activity with many others being Thrill Factory, Jumpin Heights, and more, near Shivpuri, Rishikesh. You can easily book your slot online to prepare yourself to dive into a no man’s land (JK) or through The Basera to avail special discounts.
This activity costs approximately around 3500-4500 per person.
A procedure is followed once you reach the location by signing an NDA form, with all health measurement tick boxes and checking your weight category. According to your weight category, a coloured band is assigned for your jump.
Talking about my experience, I felt shit scared and pretty much excited at the same time when the bungee was wrapped around me till the time jump was complete. However, after the jump, everything faded, and all I felt was accomplished.

2. White Water Rafting-
Next up on the list is a 45-60 mins full of adventure beside the mountains. With the fast-flowing cold water of river Ganga. You will be on a raft that matches the speed of the water and jumps the same way.
It does not end there, the current makes it even more thrilling when you try to race with the water. I am sure that you must have seen videos of people rafting. The fun it seems, it is 200% more fun.
The best time to experience it would be around feb-may and September-October. The river flows at a very high speed to excess water. The more the water the safer it is as rocks get lower the path of the raft. However, it is also not recommended to try it during excess water as the speed can overturn the raft.
While on the raft you will feel splashes of chilling water on your body and at last, you can ask to jump on the water and be a part of the divine river Ganga.
3. Giant Swing-
Everyone in their childhood has tried swings in parks/ gardens, but this time with your age, The Jumpin Heights has also increased the height of the swing. From the same platform of Bungee Jumping, you will experience the biggest swing of your lifetime.
This activity can be performed with your partner/ friend as it has options of either trying single or double (Two people). Here you will be tied to a rope that is coming from approx 100-meter height. You just have to jump when the crew has checked everything.
Trust me on this the first few seconds of the fall will increase your dopamine to another level. As soon as you leave the platform it feels like nothing will stop you and you are falling, but the rope eventually stops you and results in a swing motion. Considering the motion and height it was named the Giant Swing.
4. Paragliding-
blablablabalbal

5. Flying Fox-
This is a very unique concept introduced by the team and kudos to their effort for making it possible in India. Here you will travel from one mountain to another on a zip line. Simple as it sounds, isn’t the reality that it offers. You will be in a jacket that is attached to the rope. Suppose you are lying on your stomach but with minimum support.
Yes, that is how you will be travelling. The speed would be around 80-90 km/hr which would make it more thrilling.
Adventure at the yoga capital- Rishikesh
When doing more than one activity you can opt to choose a separate plan and avail discounts. While doing activities like river rafting or cliff jumping you can first enquire and check the actual price which most offer. There have been cases in the past where people were charged double for the same offerings while others paid half.
So be careful while you do the activity and stay safe. I hope I have helped you make your trip to Rishikesh more thrilling. If you have any suggestions or additions to this blog, please feel free to drop your thoughts in the comment section below.

Dishes I tasted reminded me of my father, who was a fisherman and always cooked finger-licking meals for us. Everything was very tasty, sea buss particularly.
We discovered new taste combinations that were unknown to us before.
